The rice fields in Hoi An, Vietnam, are truly this green in March. How delicious is that! The image for June is in Southeast Asia, too, in a small seaside town on the Gulf of Thailand.
The souls of places and how we inhabit them have had my attention for years. The place glimpsed on November’s page belongs to an American friend who calls Singapore home these days. If you are living in the tropics, when turning to December you will see a hint of a season wildly different than yours. Where I live it snows that time of year, and this time the snow came at night, bringing this image to me in the early morning light.
April and Paris allude to a cliché I couldn’t resist. And July’s sea glass (a remarkable collection from Italy) had to be included. Sea glass has not let me go since it “chose” me eight years ago when I was commissioned to photograph the book Pure Sea Glass.
